Report Launch: Norwegian Business in China 2026

We are pleased to present the report “Norwegian Business in China 2026”, jointly published by the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai and the Norwegian Business Association China.

 

The report is supported by the Embassy in Beijing, Innovation Norway, and the Norwegian Seafood Council, and has been developed in collaboration with Professor Heidi Wiig from BI Norwegian Business School.

 

Based on a business survey conducted from November 2025 to January 2026, the report reflects the perspectives of 103 Norwegian companies operating in China. The respondents represent a broad range of company sizes, geographic locations, and industries, providing valuable insights into the current state of Norwegian business in China.

 

The report offers a strategic overview of the business climate, operational challenges, and future outlook for Norwegian companies in the Chinese market. It also aims to deepen the understanding of the priorities, perspectives, and challenges faced by Norwegian companies in the region.

 

The 2026 edition has been updated to reflect the latest dynamics of the Chinese market and to provide practical insights for Norwegian companies already operating in China, as well as those considering further engagement in the market.
